Iskandar Malaysia Eco-Life Challenge 2017

131 schools submitted their electricity bills, 159 schools submitted their water bills and 128 schools submitted the recycling receipts for the school project competition. The total carbon reduction by participating schools in IMELC 2017 is 510,126.29kgCO2. If the pattern was replicated to all 346 schools, in 1 year 2,215,733.55kgCO2 can be reduced. RM15,543.96 electricity bills and RM30,860.56 water bills were saved and RM27,281.33 was collected from recycling. Therefore, a total of RM106,164.09 was saved and earned by the participating schools in IMELC 2017. If the pattern was replicated to all 346 schools, in a year RM21,975,339.90 can be saved and earned. Therefore, on average, a school can save and earn RM63,512.54 in a year through IMELC
